  2. New Year`s day • 01.january • Celebrate the new year with family or friends. • At the beach • At family home • Have a supper: a lot of food! • Fireworks • White clothes

  3. New year’s eve traditions • Jump 7 waves at the beach for good luck • Cloth Colors • White – peace • Yellow – money • Blue – health • Green – harmony • Pink or Red – love

  4. Carnaval • End of february/begging of march • Costume party at clubs • Huge events in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Recife

  5. Easter • In March or April • We exchange chocolate eggs. • Normally, parents hide their kids eggs on the backyard so they have to look for it. • Kids believe that there is a rabbit that bring them the eggs and hide them in the backyard.

  6. June’s party • On June’s weekends • We celebrate some saints days. • Antonio saint • João saint • Pedro saint • Traditional music, dance and food. • Popular beliefs.

  10. Brazilian Independence Day • 7.september • Celebrates when Brasil got independent from Portugal • Everybody uses green and yellow (Brasilcollors) and in some cities there are parades in the streets

  11. Halloween • 31.october • Costume parties • Witches, monsters, zombies, … • Children go on the streets asking for candies in the houses

  13. Christmass • 24.december • Supper: a lot of food! • Celebrate christmass with the family. • We exchange presents.
