  2. Bubonic Plague • Scientific Name: Yersinia Pestis • Spread: Transferred from rats to flees to humans • Symptoms: • Day 3-6: Severe Fever and Weakens. Chills. (Flu Like Symptoms) • Day 3-14: Development of Buboes; Vomiting of Blood • >Day 14: Death • Mortality Rate: 40-60% Untreated; 10% Treated

  3. Septicemic Plague • Scientific Name: Yersinia Pestis • Spread: Transferred through Blood • Symptoms: • Develops from untreated Bubonic Plague • Gangrene • Mortality Rate: 100% Untreated; 40% Treated

  4. Pneumonic Plague • Scientific Name: Yersinia Pestis • Spread: Airborne • Symptoms: • 1-3 Days: Severe Fever, Weakness, Cough • 3-5 Days: Death • Mortality Rate: 100% Untreated; 40% Treated

  12. TWO POPES???? WHHHAAAATTTT??? • 1377-1417 • The Papal Cardinals elect an Italian Pope who moves back to Rome • French Cardinals elect a French Pope who remains in Avignon • Decline in Papal Power
