  2. The Month of Ramadan! When: During the Ninth Month of the Islamic calender What: Fast from True Dawn to Sunset. That means no food & no water Why? The ninth month because it was the time when the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

  3. Other Reasons Why: It teaches Muslims sacrifice, patience and humility. Muslims pray much more during this month - Past: Muslims ask for forgiveness - Present: Muslims ask for help from refraining from evil deeds and for purity. - Future: Muslims ask for guidance

  4. Laylat - Ul - Qadr The Most Holiest Day of the Year! Believed to be the day when the Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Muslims believe it happened on an odd-numbered day during the last 10 days of this month (21st,23rd,etc.)

  5. Chand RaAt Celebration at night when Muslims get together and get ready for Eid. - Women put on mehndi - Men get together and…watch women put on henna - Excuse to buy new clothes! Chand Raat is decided when we see a full moon. The full moon decides if the next day is Eid.

  6. Eid-Ul-Fatr Muslims celebrate Eid-Ul-Fatr at the end of the fasting month. Muslims decide when month ends when they see a full moon on the night before. (months are in around 30 days long) During Eid Muslims go to the masjid to pray and go to other family members houses and wish them “Eid Mubarak”

  7. Eid-Ul-Fatr Children get money from older relatives and parents. The celebration of Eid-Ul-Fatr is actually three days long, but most go all out on the first day.
