  3. Year In Review • Leadership team transition (Thanks, Cindy and Donnell!) • Recipient, Special Interest Club of the Year Award • Overall membership grew by 50% • Contributed documents for Best Practices alumni initiative

  4. 2007 KBAC Objectives • Strengthen the current alumni network and continue to develop ways to further connect our BMA family • Build a nationwide imprint • Enhance our presence on Kellogg’s campus • Further develop our relationships with other alumni organizations (i.e., KACC, GSB Black Alumni Association, etc.,)

MembershipThane Gauthier, Membership Director Role Overview Build the KBAC membership through various regional and nationwide initiatives and ensure the accuracy of current information 2007 Goals • Introduction of class captain position • “Find Your Classmate” membership drive • Encourage regional membership drives via programming • Increase membership by 50 individuals, including the immediate conversion of the 2007 class

MembershipThane Gauthier, Membership Director Year-to-Date Accomplishments • Continued to encourage club enrollment through both general and targeted communications • Kellogg World entries • Email newsletter • Word-of-mouth • Immediate conversion of graduating class • Regional committee membership events Open Forum Questions • What are the best ways to connect with alums who graduated from Kellogg 10+ years?

Kellogg RelationsNatasha Davidson, Kellogg Relations Director Role Overview Serve as the liaison between KBAC and various Kellogg constituents, including Admissions, BMA and Alumni Relations 2007 Goals • Further develop relationships with the Minority Admissions Director • Develop and align club objectives with Kellogg Alumni Relations • Assist in establishing alumni involvement for BMA programming • Strengthen relationships with other Kellogg alumni clubs

Kellogg RelationsNatasha Davidson, Kellogg Relations Director Year-to-Date Accomplishments • Communicated and participated in several information and yield receptions • Attended club leaders conference coordinated by the alumni office Open Forum Questions • What kind of support should we seek from the alumni office? • What should our role be as alums in the process of recruiting? • What can we do to enhance our relationship with the Black Management Association and current students?

CommunicationsJemila Bello, Communications Director Role Overview Responsible for the development and management of all marketing and communication strategies for the KBAC, including both internal club communications and external public relations 2007 Goals • Broaden the club’s capacity to inform key stakeholders of national and regional news • Increase visibility among Alumni Community, Prospective/Current Kellogg Students and School Administration • Create two-way dialogue between KBAC leadership and the broader member base

CommunicationsJemila Bello, Communications Director Year-to-Date Accomplishments • First tri-annual newsletter distributed this past February • Enhancements made to website with additional changes forthcoming • Skeleton of mentorship program created; will begin recruiting alums to participate Open Forum Questions • What information would you like to see included in the tri-annual newsletter? • What enhancements can we make to the website that would increase your usage? • How can we encourage participation in the new KBAC mentorship program? • Are there any other communication efforts or channels we should be using?

Regional StructureRodneyse Bichotte, Northeast Region Director Role Overview Responsible for the development and management of all regional activities that are in line with KBAC Mission and Goals. 2007 Goals • Networking/Social events in each of our major cities (2-3 in New York and Chicago) • Minority information sessions per year for key recruitment centers in conjunction with the Alumni and Admissions Offices (1-2 per city) • “Summer in the City” events (2-4) • Continue to develop a regional presence in less-populated markets • General meetings and other activities as needed

Regional StructureRodneyse Bichotte, Northeast Region Director Past Year Accomplishments • North East Region: Summer in the City, Soul Brunch, Alumni meeting with Admissions • Midwest Region: Kellogg and NU Law Reception • All Regions: Minority Information Sessions and Admitted Student Receptions Open Forum Questions • How do we structure the regions and activities to reach alums not in Chicago or New York? • What areas do you want to see further developed in the regions? • How can we encourage participation at the regional level?

Leadership Opportunities • We need to engage more alumni around the country to elevate our organization • Leadership roles within the organization allow you to stay connected and allow us to accomplish more as a group • Roles are not limited to those covered here • Please contact the leadership team if you are interested

Board of Advisors Structure • 6 active alums • Diverse with respect to graduation year, industry, and geography Responsibilities • Provide insight into ways in which the KBAC can provide value-added services to alumni spanning across different classes, locations, etc. • Annual review of past events and upcoming programming • Secondary role as communication conduit to all past BMA classes • Assistance with long-term goal-setting and planning based on experience

Regional Positions • Regional Director (Midwest, Southwest, Southeast, West) • Develop strategic direction and coordinate region activities • Interface with leadership team on any national directives • Regional Communication Chair • Provide local marketing and communications of all events and news updates • Maintain a communication system which allows free communication within and across regions • Coordinate with the KBAC Communication Chair on all communication within the region • Regional Social Chair • Plan and manage networking events including venues • Document events through photos, brief write-ups, etc. • Regional Membership Chair • Maintain database for local region and develop strategies to drive membership • Develop mentoring strategies for alums and current BMA students • Coordinate with the KBAC Membership Chair on all membership initiatives • Regional Admissions Relations Chair • Partner with admissions office on planned events and issues concerning BMA admits • Coordinate minority info sessions and admissions receptions • Coordinate with the KBAC Relations Chair on all activities
