Working with your pre-internship partner and taking into consideration the resources and experience in your pre-internship placement school, your understanding of movement analysis and referring to Saskatchewan Learning Physical Education, develop a sequential learning experience including instructional materials, which will assist you in educating young children about human movement. The purpose of this expectation is to assist you in developing an understanding of what is meant by “educating through the physical” and to assist you in helping others appreciate the significance of this pedagogical orientation. A brief overview document will need to accompany the HMTE. In preparing the document consideration will be given to the use appropriate APA writing style and its professional academic orientation.

Understanding Education through the Physical • Decide on movement component (s) link • Have the answers to the questions in mind • Consider child readiness • Plan an initial movement experience within a learning context 1 • Continue developing the movement and continue to develop what you wish to teach the children through: • expanding the movement sequence • using resources to reinforce • linking other learnings (interdisciplinary) 1 – heightening a child’s awareness of movement in relationship to what you wish that child to learn (concept) for the rest of their lives.
