  1. The Aztec Indians By Michael and Julian

  2. Aztec Religion • The Aztec people worship many different gods such as, “Tezcatlipoca”,the god of sorcery. • Aztec built temples in honor of the different gods. • They also built a temple in honor of all gods such as the king of gods, Huitzilopochtli, the sun god.

  3. Games • Ullamaliztli, is the most famous Aztec ball game of basically hitting a ball through a hole 20-30 feet in the air.(see above) • Patolli, is an ancient game that you would see all over the Aztec areas . • The games they played were sometimes for a religious matter such as the game patolli as said before is a religious game the god of patolli is also named Xochipilli (five flowers).

  4. Aztec Art • The Aztec made a large amount of rich art and most people in their paintings wore many things such as jewelry. • Even people in the every day life wore what people in paintings wore. • The Emperor didn’t wear his clothes twice only once.

  5. Aztec Language • The Aztec spoke Nahuan which was in Central Mexico for 1400 years. • The greatest language spoke by the Aztecs was called Nahuatl. • They only have 4 vowels: i, e, a, o • They also had only 18 consonants: p ,t ,l ,r ,n ,k ,m ,ch ,x ,c ,s ,z ,cu (qu) ,y ,hu ,p ,ç

What Happened • The Aztecs began their tribes in the 6th century and they died out in 1525. • Before the empire was taken and destroyed by Spain the started to rebuild their city in a better view of the city. • One of their leaders, Cuauhetemoc, was hung by the Spaniards thus the fall of the Aztec empire was brought upon them.

  7. Aztec Culture • The Aztec people were well educated no matter who or what gender they were. • The only difference is that men had to go to school longer than girls so the men had a better education over all. • During their mid teens the Aztec women would have the choice to live peacefully with a family or go to the out house and work.

  8. Fun Facts • They only use weapons but never tools?! GRRR. • They were the most violent tribe in the whole wide world. What a lovely tribe?!?! • They play many different games that I bet are much fun!!!!! • Usually they went into war and won!!

  9. Location • There actually wasn’t a tribe named Aztec they are the Mexica people. • They lived in Central Mexico. After the Aztec constructed Tenochtitlan that later became Mexico City. • Then they decided to join cities with two others Texcoco and Tlapocan.

  10. What contributions have they made to present day society • They had used the poison arrow to hunt down there food. • They showed teamwork in war later on became the army. • The biggest contribution they made to today’s society is a really big communication system.
