  1. Stage One: Seed All plants start as a seed they slowly grow if they are given the right care. If you drown your plants with water for a week then give them none the next week your plant will either die or will be close to dying so make sure to give your plant enough water so it can grow without being flooded or crispy dry.

  2. Stage Two: Forms A Shoot Once a plant has had a few weeks of a good water in good soil with compost it should start to form a shoot. A shoot won’t be very big but it means that you are giving your plant the right care. If the plant starts to turn brown then you need to change the care you are giving it. If a plant does not shoot at all then it has died from the wrong care. But don’t worry just think about what you did wrong and start again!

  3. Stage Three: Building of the Root System After a plant has formed it’s shoots it will start to develop the root system. The roots of the plant are important because the roots help a plant stand up straight and not fall over. The roots is also where gases and minerals like soil enter the plant.

  4. Stage Four: Stem and Leaf Development When a plant has finished it’s root system it moves on to developing the stem and then growing leaves. Leaves also have little stem this is called Petiole. The producer of the sap in a leaf is called Phloem and Xylem is required to help make the sap.

  5. Stage Five: The Blossoming Once the plant has finished developing all the different parts it will start to bloom this will be very exciting for first time gardeners. Also very pretty!!
