Kazakhstan Electricity Transmission Rehabilitation Project, Phase II Objective: Improve technical level of equipment at Kazakhstan National Power Grid (NPG) substations, ensure energy efficiency and reliability of Kazakhstan NPG operation through installation of modern high voltage equipment at substations • The Project provides for the following: • Replacement and installation of equipment at 55 substations of Kazakhstan NPG • 500-220 kV power transformers and autotransformers • 35-500 kV instrument transformers • 35-500 kV switching equipment • 6-500 kV surge arresters • 35-500 kV post insulators • Implementation period: 2010-2016 • Cost:KZT 52 billion (€ 255 million from EBRD plus company’s funds)
