Objectives • Take time (which you don’t normally have at school) to explore a variety of the most useful reports in Destiny • Analyze the data and make connections to your media program • Export your reports to EXCEL • Customize your reports • Use your reports to do batch updates • Increase confidence and autonomy • Problem-solve and share ideas

  33. Using this report, you now have some collection development data to guide you in weeding your collection. This report should be used to cross-reference with the Publishing Date of Copies report in your Report Builder Titles by Pub Date and Total Circulations …

  35. Download the report as an XML File Publishing Date of Copies

  36. Save the file Publishing Date of Copies

  37. Change the name and save to your desktop Publishing Date of Copies

  38. When the download completes, select Close Publishing Date of Copies

  39. Locate the file on your desktop, right-click on it, select Open With, and choose Excel Publishing Date of Copies

  40. Open the XML “As a read-only workbook” Publishing Date of Copies

  41. Highlight the barcode column by clicking on the top cell, then right-click on the column and choose Format Cells… Publishing Date of Copies

  42. Choose the Number category from the Number tab, and then reduce the Decimal places to 0. Select OK. Publishing Date of Copies

  43. For updates or deletes Locate the copies with the oldest publication dates Cross reference with your Title by Pub Date and Circs if appropriate Highlight the barcodes of the books you want in your batch file Paste them into a Notepad file (.txt) Save the .txt file Creating a batch file
