  1. Animal Abuse/Cruelty

  2. Forms of Cruelty and Abuse • Hitting/kicking/stomping • Neglect (starvation, etc.) • Burning • Hanging • Choking/drowning/strangulation • Shooting • Fighting • Poisoning • Stabbing

  3. Laboratory Experiments and Factories • Vivisection • Animals are beaten, bled, and skinned, often while still alive. • Fur is singed off while the animal is still conscious. • Animals are shown no compassion or mercy.

  4. Animal Cruelty in Homes • Family pets are often targets of abuse. • Pets that stray away from homes sometimes get picked up by strangers and get abused. • Many times, pets get neglected when families don’t have enough money to care for them.

  5. What can be Done About Cruelty and Abuse • If you witness abuse, call the police or a local shelter and get information on what other steps to take. • The ASPCA and other groups of this kind are very concerned with animal abuse and cruelty, and they welcome new members very kindly. • You can simply volunteer at a local shelter. • Never buy pets from pet stores or “mills.”
