  3. What is a Search Engine? • A program that searches documents for specified keywords and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found. • like Google,  Alta Vistaand Excitethat enable users to search for documents on the World Wide Web.

  4. How it works? • Those wishing to locate something would enter a query about what they’d like to find and the engine provides links to content that matches what they want.
