Matthew David Parker - Founder of Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio

Lafayette is lucky to have a salsa dance studio and, more importantly, one run by Matthew David Parker. He founded Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio in 2010, one year after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University. His childhood dream was always to open his own studio and teach the sensual Latin dance to anyone who wished to learn it. In addition to running his studio, he enjoys traveling, fishing and spending time with his family.

  1. Matthew David Parker Founder of Lafayette Salsa DanceStudio Matthew David Parker is the founder of Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio, the city’s only studio of its kind. Matthew David Parker earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Louisiana State University in 2009, and went on to found his own studio a year later, in 2010.

  2. Matthew David Parker His Life And Salsa Dancing Matthew David Parker started his salsa journey at a very young age and has now gone on to teach the dance he has mastered. The word salsa depicts a spicy connotation. And that’s exactly what Matthew uses in his teaching style. Matthew David Parkerhas incorporated innovative movements and special dancing techniques in his trainings that have made his instruction so famous. He has utilized the variation of salsa style and mastered them all. In 2009, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He then launched his own dance studio, Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio in 2010.

Salsa gives them the ability to channel their confidence, pain, focus, self-concept and hope into their dance. Matthew David Parker is a brilliant salsa dancer. He is mostly known to the Lafayette community as the city’s salsa instructor. The desire for a social context in which people would interact and create a sense of social cohesion is what drove him to start the Lafayette Salsa Dance Studio.

He has a happy family life with his wife and two sons. His busy schedule has never kept him from giving the deserved time to his family. In addition to working 6 days per week, he has also found a love for traveling and fishing.
