Definition of Key Terms • Desktop Computer- • Laptop- Computer Hardware – The physical components of a computer that you can actually touch; the guts of the computer (motherboard, CPU, hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse). Each have built in hard drives. Also possible to plug in an external hard drive for extra storage.

  23. Advantages of Cloud Computing • Mobility, Flexibility, & Access • Share & Collaborate • Large storage capacity easily available • No software updates • Equipment storage and maintenance expenses outsourced. • Shorter set up times.

  24. Disadvantages of Cloud Computing • Subscription based • Security and Privacy- data ownership • Relies totally on network/internet connection. Doesn’t work with low speed. • Customer Service model is not as established.

Safety Passwords Backups • Your password is only as secure as the least protected site that you use. • Don’t use one password for everything! 3-2-1 Rule: • Keep 3 copies of any important file (a primary and two backups). • Store on 2 different types of media (such as hard drive, USB, or in the cloud). • 1 copy should be stored offsite (and/or at least offline).
