CHARACTERISTICS In the summer the Arctic Fox is brown and in the winter the Arctic Fox is white.It has a very long fur coat and also short ears,witch helps keep all the body heat inside.their feet are huge and also very hairy, witch helps them run on the cold snow.the Arctic fox can get up to 50-90 cm long and weigh 5-11 lbs.

  3. FOOD The Arctic Fox eats lemmings,voles,squirrels, birds, eggs berries, fish and carrion. Some foxes eat hares.They eat salmon , shellfish,sea urchins and other sea animals.Also the Arctic Fox eats dead seals, whales and other fish and animals. When the Arctic Fox can’t eat meat because there is none they eat fruit and berries. They also eat small mammals,insects and chicks from a bird.

  4. Enemies The Arctic Fox Has no other Enemies than inuit and polar bears.The Arctic Fox is often trapped on the ice or on land by the Inuit. The Inuit want the foxes fur to make coats or hats with.Polar bears also kill the Arctic Fox.

  5. Babies The female fox has up to 6-12 pups. The pups get fed 30 lemmings a day and when their grown up to the male needs to feed them over one hundred lemmings a day. The baby fox is the size of a baby kitten . When the female has pups only half of them will survive. After 14 weeks he pups can leave their den.

  6. Habitat The Arctic fox lives in polar bears old cave. They live in really tiny groups with few males and a few females and just a little bit of babies.The Arctic Foxes territories are about 2100-18000 acres long. You can sometimes see them in the hot springs are. Some Arctic Foxes are found in the far north usually in the arctic Circle.

  7. Inuit Uses The Inuit use their fur for fur coats and hats. The Arctic Fox has such a beautiful fur coat that the Inuit kill the fox for the fur.

  8. Interesting Facts The Arctic Foxes house is 20,100 acres long.The fox sneaks into a polar bears cave and eats all of it’s leftovers. The fox has to be very sly so the polar bear does not eat him up for lunch!All the foxes have white tip tails.
