  6. Shattuck House Security Security Supervisor – Craig Holzendorf cholzend@hsph.harvard.edu Security is provided on site, 24 / 7. Rounds are done to ensure a safe environment. Please follow all instructions given to you by security. If your ID is not working properly, security can, once verified, phone in your ID to LMA to be activated for Shattuck House. Alternatively, this can also be done at the ID Office in Kresge. If you have a large parcel, you may ask security to open the security office up for you, to allow you to retrieve your package. There is a $50 fee for new keys. You are allowed one key for yourself, and another for your spouse / partner / significant other. (One bedrooms only) In the event of a lockout, please visit security. For all computer related requests, such as printer, computer, and wireless services, please contact HSPH IT Helpdesk. helpdesk@hsph.harvard.edu 617 432 HELP (4357) Residential unit IT: Please stop by the HSPH IT HelpDesk (located in Kresge, LL-16) to pick up a free network cable to connect your PC to the jack. HSPH IT currently has five foot cables. All connections in residential units are wired only. Any unauthorized wireless network will be remotely disconnected by HUIT / HSPH IT. Wireless Internet is provided to all residents in common ground floor areas.   10. Shattuck Computer Lab: • The Computer Room is open 24 hours/day. If the door is shut and locked, your apartment key will unlock the door. • As a courtesy to fellow residents, please limit your computer lab usage to two hours during busy times. If no one is waiting to use the computer, you may stay on as long as you need to. • Shattuck computers are for the use of Shattuck International House student residents. Spouses and children are not permitted to use the Computer Room. Non-residents are not allowed use Shattuck computers. • No food is allowed in the Shattuck Computer Room.   11. Shattuck Computer Lab Printing: The printer is currently connected to the university-wide Pharos network. Using your Harvard ID card Crimson Cash (the thin strip on your card) for printing so you will never run out of printing credits, even after hours or on weekends. Funds can be added to your crimson cash account by visiting http://cash.harvard.edu/ or by using the Crimson Cash station located by the vending machines next to the cafeteria. Please send all questions regarding printing to icf@hsph.harvard.edu.   12. Shattuck House is a 2013 Energy Star Rated Facility To be certified as ENERGY STAR, a building must meet strict energy performance standards set by EPA. To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a building must earn an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher, indicating that it performs better than at least 75 percent of similar buildings nationwide.   13. Trash must be disposed in the dumpster located behind the building. Disposal is strictly enforced by the City of Boston. Please keep the dumpsters locked. Trash cannot be left outside of the dumpsters. If both dumpsters are full, please let Operations know ASAP at: operations@hsph.harvard.edu 617 432 1152 Dumpsters are scheduled to be emptied on Mondays and Fridays.   14. Recycling bins are located in the exercise room, Ground Floor, 207. There are also small bins located by the security desk. We recycle paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, some plastic containers (e.g. milk jugs), and batteries. Please check the examples posted near the recycling bins for more information on what can and cannot be recycled. Make sure all food containers are thoroughly cleaned before recycling. Though we are not able to recycle plastic bags, the Shaw’s on the corner of Boylston Street and Park Drive does. You can take the bags there, and drop them in the bin located at the front of the store, near the cashiers. Bottles can also be recycled at Shaw’s for the indicated refund.   15. Please report all pest sightings to Operations via the Shattuck Work Order Form. A link to the form can be found on the Shattuck Website: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/housing/shattuck-house/ As you set up your apartment, we strongly recommend that you do not purchase a used mattress, sleeping futon or sofa (including sleeping sofas). These items are some of the most common ways that bedbugs are dispersed. Please allow pest control to take care of all pest issues.   16. Our storage room is located in the basement of building 2, across from the Men’s Restroom. Your room key will open the door. All units are assigned a bin. For shared units, there is alternating A and B bins. Storage is only available for the duration of your lease. All items arestored at owner’s risk. Items left in storage after termination of your lease will be donated to charity or disposed of. Please note, items cannot be left outside of the storage unit. To avoid confusion, please label all items in the storage box. Other resources for storage can be found in the Shattuck House Guide.   17. Please make sure to update your mailbox tag with your name, on both the front and back sides of the mailbox tag. Labeling on the backside of the tag will enable postal workers to quickly identify your unit when the mailbox is opened. Packages addressed to 199, 203, and 207 Park Drive will arrive at the Shattuck mailroom. Large packages are signed for by security when possible and stored in the security office. Please check for and retrieve your package promptly.
