SEA TURTLES “COMMON GREEN TURTLES”. By : Hannah Lemon And Ashley Unrein. Size & Weight. The largest sea turtle found was 5 feet long and weighed 871 pounds. Most sea turtles weigh 300 to 400 pounds and are 3.5 to 4 feet long. Sea turtles are the size of a golf balls when they are born.

  2. Size & Weight The largest sea turtle found was 5 feet long and weighed 871 pounds. Most sea turtles weigh 300 to 400 pounds and are 3.5 to 4 feet long. Sea turtles are the size of a golf balls when they are born.

  3. Lifespan • Up to 150 years in the wild…. • And up to 150 years in a preserve or zoo.

  4. Nesting • A female turtle nests between 3-5 times per season. • They lay an average of 115 eggs in a nest • The eggs hatch in about 60 days

  5. Where They live • Most live in the tropical waters through out the World. They mainly stay near coastlines and around islands.They are very rarely seen in the open ocean.

  6. What Do They Eat A sea turtles diet changes as its size changes. When it is less than 8-10 inches it eats worms, small crustaceans, water bugs, sea grass and algae. Once it is 8-10 inches it mostly eats sea grass and algae. When it is an adult it is a vegetarian because of its soft jaw.
