  2. Sound • The non-diegetic music sounds middle • eastern and rises to build the suspense. • There is a voiceover/narration during the • opening which helps the story progress. It is • also used to let the audience understand what • ishappening.

Camera Work • There are close up shots of an imprisoned man, • capturing his emotions and showing how • isolated he is and feels. • The use of wide shots establishes the locations • and introduces the scene. • The camerawork is smooth, which suggests • that the film is unhurried with no sense of • urgency.

  4. Editing There are quick cuts between the shots of the car driving and the statues, but the use of faded transitions suggests that the background story is slowly paced. There is a slow seeming, single shot of the man, which seems to drag on.

  5. Mis-en-scene It is set in an urban area, implying that there will always be people around, which may be important to the storyline. The dark grey colours make the audience feel bleak and remove all personal emotions from the scene. The dull inside of the prison cell echoes the tone of the opening.
