  5. The mission of the National Network is to connect and champion the needs of runaway, homeless, and other disconnected youth through strengthening the capacity of community-based services by facilitating resource-sharing and influencing public policy.

Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) Rulemaking • Resource Guide: http://www.nn4youth.org/public-policy/RHYA-Proposed-Regulations-2014 • Submit your recommendations to NN4Y by May 23 • Deadline to submit comments to Feds is June 13th • Regulations were last updated in 2000 • They are a significant change and there are serious concerns

  9. RHYA Reauthorization • Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA) expired in September 2013 • Convened and lead the RHYA 2013-2014 Reauthorization Working Group • Have a draft bipartisan senate bill • Hope to have it introduced and passed through the Senate and House this year

FY 15 (FY 16) Appropriations • RHYA and Education of Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) programs are discretionary funding • Every budget and appropriations process we have to fight for RHYA and EHCY funding • Senate (21 Senators) and House (27 Representatives) Dear Colleague Letters • Letter from National Organizations to Senate and House Appropriations
