  9. ENERGY TRENDS AND REGULATIONS

  10. TECHNOLOGY TRENDS ARE MOVING ACCORDINGLY • INSULATING SOLUTIONS IMPROVING ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF THE BUILDINGS 2.LOW TEMPERATURE HEATING DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS (IN-FLOOR AND IN-WALL RADIANT SYSTEMS), SOMETIMES ALSO USED FOR SUMMER COOLING 3. CENTRAL HEATING WITH ENERGY METERING SYSTEMS 4. USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES 5. HEAT PUMPS AND REVERSIBLE HEAT PUMPS 6. MORE ATTENTION ON HEATING EFFICIENCY AND COST COMPARED TO COOLING 7. NEED OF INTEGRATED SOLUTION (HEATING, COOLING & DHW)

  11. European regulations and directives are focusing on energy efficiency and carbon reduction ECO-BOILER: heating systems labeling ROBUR

  14. ROBUR STRATEGY ON THE HEATING AND COOLING MARKET

  15. HEAT PUMPS MARKET IS GROWING FAST • Heat pumps are energy efficient • A significant part of the energy is recovered from renewable sources like the geothermal heat or heat from the external air • Heat pumps can be advantageously coupled with low temperature distribution systems • Reversible heat pumps can also provide summer cooling • The investment cost is quickly paid back by savings on energy bills • Heat pumps increase the estate value, thanks to higher Energy Certification ranking

  16. …BUT • Heat pumps consume a lot of electrical energy and often need to increase the electrical power capacity of the building • Air heat pumps have very low heating performance when outside temperature drops, which means when you need it more! It is often necessary to install back-up boilers or resistors • Geothermal heat pumps imply a very high cost for geothermal probes • Most of electrical heat pumps cannot provide Domestic Hot Water • Most of electrical heat pumps cannot produce hot water higher than 55°C, which means they cannot be used to refurbish existing buildings with traditional distribution systems (radiators) ROBUR has the solution: GAS ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS

  17. ROBUR ABSORPTION TECHNOLOGY

  18. ROBUR GAS ABSORPTION TECHNOLOGY • WATER-AMMONIA ABSORPTION CYCLE RECOVERING HEAT FROM OUTSIDE AIR AS LOW AS -20° AND/OR COOLING WITH EXTERNAL AIR UP TO +45° • DIRECT PRIMARY ENERGY INPUT THROUGH PRE-MIXED MULTIGAS BURNERS – NATURAL GAS / GPL • EXTREMELY LOW ELECTRICAL POWER CONSUMPTION (LESS THAN 0,9 kW FOR 35kW OF HEATING OUTPUT)

  19. USEFUL EFFECT PRIMARY ENERGY ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP COMPRESSION HEAT PUMP HEAT HIGH PRESSURE condenser GAS generator COMPRESSOR ELECTRICITY PUMP evaporator LOW PRESSURE Energy recovery from air or ground HEAT absorber HEAT Absorption heat pump working principle
