  1. What Is Resource Room? • Resource is designed to provide your child assistance with assignments, a quiet and structured environment to study and an opportunity to review and organize class notes. • At the beginning of the period, there will be a mini-lesson focusing on skills the will aid in your child’s success this school year.

  2. Mini-lesson Topics: • PSSA preparation • Reading comprehension/fluency skills • Editing/grammar skills • Math computation/problem solving skills • Study skills • Practice using higher order thinking skills • Organizational and time management strategies • Review of reading, math, social studies, and science skills taught in class

  3. Required Materials: • binders • writing materials • assignment books • any assignments where they need assistance • silent reading/REP book • At the end of the week, there will be time during the period to clean and organize binders/lockers.

  4. How are students assessed in resource? Students will receive a grade in resource room based on the following criteria: • arriving on-time & being prepared (responsibility) • assignment book and calendar up-to-date • completing warm-up activity, individual work and required work (following directions) • classroom behavior (respect)
