  2. Look at the pictures and read the following sentences • There is a pig in the garden. • Some children are playing in the yard.

  3. Now look at these pictures and read the sentences • There aren’t any children in the yard. • There is no pig in the garden.

  4. Now compare these two sentences • I have some money in my pocket. • I don’t have any money in my pocket.

  5. Also compare these two sentences • There are two pictures on the wall. • There are no pictures on the wall.

  6. Again review the pictures and read the sentences more carefully There aren’t any children in the yard. Or: There are no children in the yard

  7. There isn’t any pig in the garden. Or: There is no pig in the garden.

  8. I don’t have any money in my pocket. Or: I have no money in my pocket.

  9. There aren’t any pictures on the wall. Or: There are no pictures on the wall.

  10. Now answer the questions: Are there any cows in the garden? No, there aren’t any cows in the garden. Or: No, …………………………………………..

  11. Do you see anybody on the bridge? No, I see nobody on the bridge. Or: No, ……………………………………..

  12. Does he have any bag in his hand? No, he doesn’t have any bag in his hand. Or: No, ………………………………...

  13. Is there any water in the glass? No, there is no water in the glass. Or: No,

  14. So, there is a rule: Any is used in negative sentences & questions. Ex. Does he have any bag? Ex. He doesn’t have any bag. He doesn’t have no bag. No is used in positive sentences. Ex. He has no bag. He has any bag.

  15. Answer this question in two forms Is there any air or water in the moon? No,
