  1. INTRODUCTION; Light is a form of energy.Without light we can’t live in this world. We have the natural source of light, this sun.Tube lights and electric bulbs are the artificial sources of light. Many more facts about light can be studied in further slides.

  2. PRESENTED BY. H.SANDEEP K.DILIP and RATHAN SINGH.R

  3. CONTENTS; 1.Importance of light. 2.Inference. 3.Laws of refraction of light. 4.Refractive index.

  4. IMPORTANCE OF LIGHT; You already know that light is necessary for us to see things around us.you also know that light is a form of energy. It travels in straight lines .This property is responsible for the formation of shadow. You are familiar with laws of reflection and their application.

  5. INFERENCE; The light ray travelling along the line enters the glass slab . It slightly bends and travels along the line.It again bends and emerges out and travels along the line. Hence the images appear to be in the same straight line when viewed through the face.

  6. LAWS OF REFRACTION OF LIGHT; Let the ray be incident ray. The point is the point of incidence,is the angel of incidence is the angel of refraction is the refracted ray. The angel of refraction along with the angel of incidence .Therefore we can state the laws of as follows:

  7. REFRACTIVE INDEX; Already it has been established that the ratio of the sine of the incidence and the sine of the angle of refraction is a constant between any two media. This constant is called refractive index, It is denoted by M (Mue).

  8. SUMMARY; In our daily life along with our basic needs we need light also.It is also a form of energy.Speed of light is 3,00,000Km/sec .Light is used to see the objects.Without light there is no human life on the earth. It takes 8minutesfrom sun to fall on earth.Speed of light in water is 2,25,000 km/sec and in glass speed is 20,0000km/s.
