  1. Barrel testing continued+work before installationSSGH.Pernegger8/6/06

  2. Tests done sofar • TRT and SCT standalone tests • Mainly online checks (eg. SCT characterization, TRT board tests, pickup test,…) • Some standalone cosmics runs • Cosmics • Timing studies • Top sectors SCT+TRT • Top + bottom sector SCT+TRT (~20k events sofar) as a test • Several combined noise and X-talk tests • Noise on SCT from TRT + Noise on TRT from SCT • Info & Links • Started looking at first test results, summary of some run experience, feedback from offline: • http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a062613 • Log books & Online results: • Logbook: http://pcphsctr02.cern.ch/cgi-bin/logbook.cgi • Display (calibration results): http://pcphsctr02.cern.ch/cgi-bin/datadisplay.cgi

  3. Offline check of NO • NO from fix-freq. Runs (~50Hz) • Used 010 time bin selection to allow for comparison to online histogramming ENC(EquivalentNoise Charge) = 1605 electrons Agrees with online calibration

  4. Current Module Issues on SCT Top/Bottom Sectors Top: 252 modules, Bottom: 216 modules (468 total) • 13 anolomies • 2 are ‘non-issues’ (db issues only affecting displays) • 2 new non-readable chips (dead vcsels, link0 read via link1) since single barrel testing • 2 newly masked links, under investigation B3 LMT23 Z-6 20220040200266 OK Trips during NO run, so left out. Ok in reception B3 LMT09 Z-5 20220330200408 still under investigation Link 1 masked - probably recoverable - ok in reception, and top sector commissioning B3 LMT09 Z+4 20220330200439 OK First chip masked off, same in SR1 reception but not at Oxford. Chip recovered now. B4 LMT28 Z-1 20220170200349 Non-issue Database issue. Replaced by 0170200752 at Oxford. B4 LMT29 Z+1 20220330200553 Non-issue Database issue. Replaced by 0170200113 at Oxford. Dave, Peter

  5. B4 LMT27 Z+1 20220170200378 (use harness red., no loss, but new defect) NewUsing RClk (zero IPIN) - ok in reception B5 LMT31 Z+1 20220170200079 (use harness red., no loss, but new defect) New Using RClk (zero IPIN) - ok in reception B5 LMT31 Z+6 20220170200179 (use harness red., no loss, but new defect) NewUsing RClk (zero IPIN)- ok in reception ==> B5 LMT07 Z+6 20220170200310 Ivecsel normal but still under investigation NewDead vcsel link 0. Read via link 1 - chip M0 lost - ok in reception B5 LMT36 Z+2 20220170200518 OK (Vpin 7V) Link 0 masked, recovered now - ok in reception B6 LMT39 Z+1 20220380200182 will be probed on PPB1 Digital ok, no analogue response. No data since Oxford assembly test? VccSense fault downstream of TPP – repaired??? B6 LMT09 Z+2 20220330200209 Known issue, 1 chip dead since assembly Dead vcsel link 0 - readout via link1 - chip M0 lost - same at Oxford ==> B6 LMT39 Z-6 20220380200010 1/2 vcsel I NewDead vcsel link 0 - readout via link1 - chip M0 lost - was ok at Oxford

  6. List of final (ongoing) tests • SCT FE noise during TRT readout cycle • Shift SCT L1 through TRT readout time • Done yesterday, to be repeated today • Heater • A simple test (discussed today): run 50 Hz physics triggers (single events for offline analysis) with TRT and SCT on • Make offline check of NO vs time for SCT and TRT parts • Data taking to start tomorrow • Repeate module characterization (all modules top+bottom) • ~2hrs of running, likely today or tomorrow night • Cosmics • See Tuesday’s presentations • Goal 0.5M: take ~8-10k/hr , assume 15 data taking with 24hr running • Will fit 3 days Mo-Wed for Top+Bottom cosmics

  7. Open Issues ? • Check actual thresholds • Resolve discrepancy to NO in cosmic running (trim target vs “1.0fC” • Test NO vs frequency • Offline efficiency for X1X is low • Points to still larger spread in module timing • Do we have Mark/space ratio issue at the moment? • Investigation of changing RX settings for opto • Kamil analyses data at the moment • Unlikely that we can do something now (before stop of tests) • Need further investigation • Investigate Vcc issue on 1 module (PPB1?) and Ipin (fibre failure) • Currently being looked at (Vcc) • Next week for Ipin (Tony is around next week) • Backplane contact • Will need to fit all tests in “uncabling period”

  8. SR1 Work before installation • There are lots of preparations for mechanical insertion on-going • 14h00 TC meeting • This is by Eric, Marco, Andrea, Yury • Not covered here • Work in SR1 • Uncabling • SCT work: 3wks • TRT work: 3 wks • Mechanical preps on trolley: ~ 1wk ? (still to be confirmed by Eric, Andrea, Marco

  9. Lowering date by Eric/Andrea/Marco ~20/8
