  6. Vascular Tissue Transports fluids throughout the plant. Looks like a straw!

  7. Xylem Brings water and nutrients from the roots through the stem into the leaves

  8. Phloem Phloem tissue brings food made in the leaves to all parts of the plant.

  9. Photosynthesis The process plants use to make their own food!

  10. Respiration When plants use the glucose and oxygen made during photosynthesis to make energy, carbon dioxide, and water for the plant, it is called respiration.

  11. Transpiration Transpiration occurs when water is evaporated from the leaves through the stomata.

  12. Reproduction Reproduce means to make more of the same kind Plants reproduce in three ways: seeds, spores and parts of plants.

  13. Seeds Most plants reproduce from seeds. A seed contains two things: • embryo-beginning of a new plant • Food needed for the new plant to grow

  14. Spores A spore is a single cell that can grow into a new plant. Spores are released into the air by water or wind. When they land on damp ground they grow into a new plant.
