  1. EDI Alpha Store Entry RLM System

  2. What is the EDI Alpha Store? • Many customers use an alphanumeric store number which can be up to 7 positions long • System store numbers are limited to 4 numbers, so “EDI Alpha Store” is being used to accommodate the longer number, as transmitted via EDI • Each EDI Alpha Store must still be cross-referenced to a system store number between 1 and 9999 • The range of cross-reference stores will differ for each customer! • EDI Alpha Store should not be confused with the “Alpha Store” field – the fields are separate and distinct.

  3. Customer-Specific Changes • For JCP only: • If the EDI Alpha Store number ends in a number, find the system store number that matches the EDI Alpha Store’s first 4 digits and enter the EDI Alpha Store number • Example – store 1234 with check digit 5 gets EDI Alpha Store 12345 • If the EDI Alpha Store ends in an “A” or a “D”– create a new system store number between 7000-9999 as a cross-reference for the EDI Alpha Store • Example – for EDI Alpha Store 12345A set up a new “dummy” store such as 7000 • For Shopko and Sears: • The EDI Alpha Store is a zero added to the front of the system store number • Example: system store 1234 is EDI Alpha Store 01234
