  1. Does risk analysis conclude that they will face early sea lice challenge post transfer? No No No No No No Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Are lice numbers approaching treatment target levels? Are lice sensitive to α-max? Are lice sensitive to SLICE? >90% clearance achieved? As required and sensitivity permits, continue using α-max for the first period of the production cycle then change to SLICE for the remainder of the cycle to minimise potential for tolerance As required and sensitivity permits, continue using SLICE for the first period of the production cycle to a max of 5 treatments then change to α-max for the remainder of the cycle to minimise potential for tolerance Continue weekly monitoring Continue weekly monitoring Continue weekly monitoring Continue weekly monitoring Continue weekly monitoring General ISLM Treatment Strategy for Ring-fence Areas Smolts in fresh water destined for pre fallowed sites in ring-fence area sea water transfer Challenge permitting, allow 3 weeks acclimatisation then initiate weekly sea lice count and population structure monitoring Treat all smolts destined for RF area with SLICE for 7 days immediately pre starvation period prior to sea water transfer sea water transfer Challenge permitting, acclimatise for 3 weeks then initiate weekly sea lice counts and population structure monitoring Are lice numbers approaching treatment target levels? Continue weekly sea lice counts and population structure monitoring Conduct bioassay to check for sensitivity to the available medicines Continue weekly sea lice counts and population structure monitoring Conduct bioassay to check for sensitivity If lice are sensitive to SLICE then treat with SLICE and if not then bath with peroxide Bath treat with α-max If lice are sensitive to α-max then bath treat with α-max and if not, bath with peroxide or another available medicine Treat with SLICE and continue weekly monitoring to check for clearance by end of third week after treatment Check flesh levels Bath treat with α-max if lice are sensitive to it and if not then bath with peroxide or other available medicine
