The United states • Immigrants first populated the U.S. in 1607 • As of May 2014, the United States has a total population of 317.8 million • Immigration in the United States is a difficult demographic phenomenon that has been one of the main sources for population growth. • Along with population growth it had brought a major cultural change throughout much of the history of the United States. • Gold Rush, Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, Naturalization Act of 1870, Great Wave

  3. Why immigrate to the us? Better opportunities: • Education • Health Care • Jobs • Get away from: • crime • illegal drug trafficking • Corrupt leaders

  4. Hispanic overpowering • Most farm workers are immigrants • They take on jobs that citizens would not be willing to take • They are a vast majority of population in the United States

  5. Problems that will be faced • If there is no agreement several problem will arise from the situation: • Separating families • Protesting against non-voters • Different sets of groups will think they are in control • Over population in the United States • Economy will keep getting worst

  6. Existing bills that are alike • Standards for Immigration Reform - The House Republican leadership

  7. who will Be eligible ? • Number of years a person has lived in the United States • Those with children with naturalized citizens • Those who can afford it • NO criminal record Who will NOT be eligible? • Convicted of an aggravated felony; • •Convicted of a felony; • •Convicted of 3 or more misdemeanors; • •Convicted of an offense under foreign law; • •Unlawfully voted; and • •Inadmissible for criminal, national security, public health, or other morality grounds.

  8. A Better, united, Country • Drug trafficationwill seen a lot less. • Will help the economy • More tax payers • Regulated population in the U.S.
