  1. Club Objectives • To promote the game of soccer • To provide the opportunity and facilities for the development of soccer • Established in February 1960 • Pukekohe Ramblers Association Football Club • 1982: Pukekohe Association Football Club

  2. 1985 • Took possession of current facility on Bledisloe Park • 120 Juniors / 50 Seniors • Winter sport (April – Sept) • Shared park with Hockey • Early 1990’s • Sole winter use of Bledisloe Park • 2002 • 5-a-side summer soccer starts • Summer share of park with Cricket

Current Situation • Membership • 650 Juniors & 120 Seniors • 10% growth in juniors vs 2006 • All nationalities • Gender mix (625 male/145 female) • Age breakdown (132 midgets, 286 juniors, 228 youth) • Geographical mix (full Franklin spectrum) • Soccer 2 Federation • Franklin/Manukau/Waitakere Districts • 200+ in summer 5-a-side competition • 12 month season

Current Situation • Facilities • Still the same size clubrooms • Bledisloe Park is full in Winter • 2 Full sized fields • 4 junior fields • 13 midget fields • 2 full sized training (floodlit) fields • 13 x 5-a-side fields in summer (midget fields) • Use 2 Full size fields at High School • Use the 4 cricket club changing rooms

  5. Future Projections • Assumptions based on • Growth (and projected growth) • Current state of facilities • Soccer now a “year round” sporting activity in Pukekohe and on Bledisloe Park

Facilities Development Project • To determine the needs of the junior and senior membership of Pukekohe AFC • To ascertain the needs from the wider community of Pukekohe/Franklin for a new clubroom facility within Pukekohe. • To provide a clubroom facility that will cater for those identified needs • To determine the financial implications of such a development

How does this project fit with the FDC Community Plan 2006-2016? • The aim is to provide a facility that will • Maximise the recreational use of Bledisloe Park and immediate environs • Provide a “home base” for Pukekohe/Franklin soccer • Provide alternative options for other Pukekohe community/sporting groups and the community as a whole
