  2. The human eye is a complex integration of various veins and other parts. With the help of each part, we are able to see things around us, but even a tiny fault in the eye can lead to some serious issues.   3. What Exactly is an Eye Exam? Physical Examination • This examination includes an entire health check of the eye from the outside to the inside. The doctor may use the tools like light or a lens to check the internal portion of the eye including the health of the retina, optic nerve, and lens. For external testing, cornea, iris, eyelids, and conjunctiva are tested. A slit lamp is the most common tool used for the testing. It comes with a chin rest so that the doctor can look at the eye lens while the patient is relaxing. The eye examination includes a proper checkup of the eye. It may take a longer time as multiple tests are included in the whole procedure. The test may range from simplest to the most complex depending on the visual capacity of the eye.
