  3. Claude Monet History • Creator of Impressionism art during mid 1800’s to early 1900’s. • Philosophy of expressing perceptions before nature.

  4. How did it begin? • Work began as an other hopeful artist drawing charcoal characters. • In Paris he visited the famous museum The Louvre.

  5. More Inspiration • Claude Monet meets Eugène Boudin who encourages him to paint out of doors • This influenced his many wonderful outdoor paintings.

  6. Love Sick • La Femme à la Robe Verte • This painting featured his wife Camille Doncieux who died after childbirth. • Shortly after Monet attempted suicide.

  7. Mid-Life • Monet remarried Alice Hoschedé 1892 and helped raise her six children. • WWI influenced his work of the weeping willow paintings homage to the fallen French Soldiers. • Shortly after this he developed cataracts that may have contributed to the blur in some of his later paintings.

  8. death • Surprisingly Monet died of lung cancer. • He is buried in Giverny Church cemetery in his Hometown. It is now one of the Main tourist attractions Around the world.
