  1. Quadrilaterals By: Sachita Ganesa, Brittany Laramee, Connor Shea and Sean Teebagy

  2. Parallelograms • Definition:Quadrilateral with two pairs of opposite parallel sides. • Properties: • Opposite angles are congruent • Both pairs of opposite sides are congruent • Diagonals bisect • Sum of interior angles is 360 degrees • Consecutive angles are supplementary • One pair of opposite sides are parallel and congruent

  3. Parallelograms (continued) Examples of Properties Opposite angles are congruent Diagonals bisect Opposite sides congruent and parallel

  4. Rectangles • Definition: A parallelogram with 4 right angles • Properties: • All properties that a parallelogram has • All four angles are 90 degrees • All diagonals are congruent

  5. Rectangles (continued) Examples of Properties Opposite angles are congruent and 90 degrees Diagonals bisect & congruent Opposite sides congruent and parallel

  6. Rhombus • Definition: A parallelogram with 4 congruent sides • Properties: • All properties that a parallelogram has • All sides are congruent • Diagonals are perpendicular • Diagonals bisect the angles

  7. Rhombus (continued) Examples of properties Angles are bisected by the diagonals Diagonals congruent & perpendicular bisector of each other All sides congruent and opposite sides parallel

  8. Squares • Definition: Parallelogram with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides • Properties: • All properties that a parallelogram has • 4 right angles • 4 congruent sides • Diagonals are congruent • Diagonals are perpendicular • Diagonals bisect the angles

  9. Squares (continued) Examples of properties Angles are bisected by the diagonals Diagonals congruent & perpendicular bisector of each other All sides congruent and opposite sides parallel

  10. Trapezoids • Definition: A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of opposite, parallel sides. • Properties: • Sum of all interior angles are 360 degrees • Exactly one pair of opposite, parallel sides

  11. Trapezoids (continued) Examples of properties Exactly one pair of opposite, parallel sides

  12. Kites • Definition: A quadrilateral with exactly 2 pairs of adjacent and congruent sides • Properties: • 2 pairs of congruent and adjacent sides • Diagonals are perpendicular • Sum of interior angles is 360 degrees

  13. Kites (continued) Examples of properties Diagonals are perpendicular Two pairs of adjacent, congruent sides
