  2. Introduction The goal of the internal medicine clerkship rotation (Med - Course 442) is to make the graduated medical student a competent general practitioner or a postgraduate physician seeking further training in different medical disciplines.

  3. At the end of the 442-Medicine course students are expected to: • Master the skills of history taking and physical examination with the ability to identify abnormal physical findings. • Have a systematic and problem based approach to the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions. • Be able to interpret the results of commonly use diagnostic tests. • Be able to recognize patients with life threatening conditions & have a safe and organized approach to the diagnosis and management of common medical emergencies. • Be able to communicate effectively ,both orally and in writing with patients and other health care professionals • Be able to practice student centered learning in his/her free time using available resources.

  4. Activity • Morning meeting. • Unit activity ( Daily round, clinic, grand round, etc). • Bedside teaching. • Neurology and cardiology bedside teaching. • Emergency room on-call with medical registrar. • Wednesday and Thursday afternoon tutorials.
