  1. Inserting Pictures onto Slides

  2. Inserting Pictures Onto Slides • Now that you’ve collected some pictures, let’s insert them onto a slide. There are two ways to do this: • The Traditional Way (most obvious way)The easiest way to insert a picture onto your slide is by going to the menu-bar, and selecting [Insert – Picture – From File]. This will bring up the file-selection window and you can search through your entire computer for your photo. • Hopefully, you saved all your pictures into the same directory as your PowerPoint file, as this is the best way to keep things organized. • After you've found your picture, click [Insert] and the picture will appear on your slide.

  3. Inserting with the Slide Layout • Another method to inserting your picture is with a pre-made slide layout. This method is a little more involved, but creates a slide that already has separate areas for text and a photo. • Start by creating a new slide. When choosing a Slide-Layout, scroll down through the slide layout styles and find one with a “content” in it. Apply this layout to your current slide, and your slide will now contain a special "content box." Click on the little picture icon inside the content box, and you’ll be able to add the photo inside this area.

  4. Inserting with the Slide Layout • Once you’ve got a picture on your slide, you can move the picture around the slide by dragging it with your mouse. You can also resize your photo by dragging the corner handles (the little circles located at each corner). In fact, you can do a lot more things to your photo. We'll talk about these in the next lesson ... Next:Changing our images look and properties ... Or:See all our PowerPoint tutorials!

  5. Go right ahead! You can even copy and use the pictures. We only ask that you include the following sentence (and link) at the bottom of the article: You can find more useful PowerPoint tips-and-tricks like this one atwww.mightycoach.com - they even have an online-video course that teaches you to use PowerPoint in only a few hours!
