  2. Objective 6.1: Create an environment of practical, helpful collaboration and service across the main campus and all off-campus sites and the community

  3. Objective 6.1: Progress • Partnered with Faculty Senate and Staff Senate to host LMU family barbeque at Haymaker Farms • Worked with the Carter and Moyers School of Education to host the annual Upholding the Constitution Series on October 26, 2018 featuring Utah District Judge Lynn W. Davis • Partnered with the Department of Athletics to bring back over 120 alumni and friends for Alumni Night at the Basketball Game

  4. Objective 6.1: Progress • Worked with the Office of Admissions to have a table at the following events: Family Night at the Smokies, Women of Service Fashion Show, the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival (LMU hosted the breakfast for 700 people on Saturday morning), and other events.

  5. Objective 6.1: Progress Alumni Services and the National Alumni Board partnered with Student Services, Career Services, the Office of Admissions and other areas to participate in many events throughout the year including the following: • Homecoming 2018 • New Student Registrations and Orientation • LMU Career Fair • Leadership Claiborne • Alumni chapter meetings • And many others!

  6. LMU Homecoming 2018 Mark your calendar for Homecoming 2019, scheduled for October 11-13, 2019!

Objective 6.1: Progress • Partnered with Women of Service and community leaders and members to accomplish the following: • Hosted 25 girls with the Pearls of Grace/The CORE involving the Centro Hispano Community organization • Raised over $20,000 for student scholarships and other student initiatives at the Fashion Show and Christmas Festival • Opened a 3rd food pantry at the LMU-Cedar Bluff site • Sponsored soup days at CVM

  8. Objective 6.2:Increase alumni participation

Objective 6.2: Progress • Hosted 100 events for alumni and friends in 2018-19, a 35% increase in the number of events from last year. • Hosted graduation breakfasts, lunches and BBQs to encourage membership in the National Alumni Association • Our team met with over 4,226 alumni and friends at activities on campus and events hosted in areas around the region, an increase of 40% in alumni attending events

Objective 6.2: Progress University Advancement provides many opportunities for alumni and friends to travel and connect throughout the year! • Trip to Rose Parade • June 2019 trip to Belgium • Tennessee Titans outing • Knoxville Ice Bears • LMU Family Day at Dollywood • Baseball events at Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Smokies • Chapter meetings, receptions and events throughout the United States 20 LMU alumni and friends traveled to Belgium in June 2019, visiting Brussels, Bruges, Hasselt, Bastogne and other destinations!

  11. Objective 6.3: Increase unrestricted donations by building a broad base of annual support

Objective 6.3: Progress • Raised a total of $4,313,171.44 in gifts from all sources as of June 30, 2019; Secured six additional estate expectancies for an anticipated total of $4.32 million in additional distributions ($8.6 million--21.6% increase) • Promoted faculty/staff giving online and at events throughout the year: as a result, 264 full-time faculty/staff donors have contributed during fiscal 2018-19, an increase of 14.3 percent YTD • Increased our one-year donor retention rate to 50.1 percent YTD, compared to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) national reported average of 45.5 percent • Cost to raise a dollar for the fiscal 2018-19 year was 9.67 cents

  15. Objective 6.3: Progress 2018 LMU Day of Giving Planned and held the annual Day of Givingcelebration on November 27, 2018 with events for students, faculty and staff, alumni and friends

  16. LMU donors supported the following areas during fiscal 2018-19: Over $470,000 in unrestricted giving and current projects Over $988,000 in non-cash giving Over $1,000,000 in support of annual/endowed scholarships Over $644,000 in grant funding Over $1,170,000 in funds for campus renovations

  17. In fiscal 2018-19, LMU donorsrepresented 42 U.S. States!Here’s where they were from: 39 percent ofdonors live more than 100 miles from campus (723 total) 15 percent of donors live within 51 to 100 miles of campus (283 donors) 46 percent of donors live within 50 miles of campus (866 donors)

  19. Objective 6.4: Increase endowment giving by 5% annually for student scholarships, faculty development, research, endowed chairs, continuing education and physical plant

Objective 6.4: Progress • Established five new annual scholarships and five new endowed scholarships in fiscal 2018-19 • Awarded 430 students a total of $640,000 in annual and endowed scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year • Worked with the LMU Student Awards Committee to plan and conduct all aspects of the annual Student Awards and Recognition Program • Supported and expanded the use of NextGen Scholarship Manager platform

  21. Objective 6.4: Progress Ten annual/endowed scholarships were established in 2018-19, including the following: Donald D. Patton Memorial Scholarship, Given by Lisa Morgan Dr. Estle P. and Dr. Jean Hayter Muncy Endowed Scholarship Rowland and Brantley Endowed Scholarship

  22. Objective 6.5: Promote the University locally, regionally, nationally and internationally to alumni, friends and constituents to support fundraising and participation goals

Objective 6.5: Progress • Hosted five Railsplitter Legends recognition events during home basketball games, bringing back 51 former athletes and coaches • Hosted Producer’s Circle for members of the community and alumni in a social setting • Hosted 10 LMU-DCOM receptions at regional and national professional meetings • Hosted eight alumni/career services seminars for 1st and 2nd year DCOM students • Planned the 3nd Annual LMU-DCOM Alumni Association CME Conference held in June 2019 LMU-DCOM alumni and friends reception during OMED 2018 in San Diego

  24. Objective 6.6: Continue aggressive fundraising to meet identified fundraising priorities, including increased annual fund donor base; increased endowment fund; capital projects for facility construction, maintenance and improvement; flexibility to meet unforeseen needs, utilizing MVT in all areas to track outcomes and maximize return on investment (ROI)

  25. Objective 6.6: Progress Kincaid $1 Million Challenge for the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum • Raised a total of $3,024,697.84 in gifts and expectancies as of June, 2019 • Duncan Legacy Endowed Scholarship for Deserving Law Students • Raised a total of $27,536.94 as of June 2019

Objective 6.6: Progress Ron Chernow Event • Raised $44,442.56 in net revenue for the Duncan School of Law, in partnership with the East TN Historical Society Golden Scalpel Golf Tournament • Increased net revenue to $29,961.00, and participation to 120, in the 2019 Golden Scalpel Golf Tournament

Objective 6.6: Progress Designed LMU’s 16th MVT test to be launched in July 2019, focusing on ways to increase donations of stock • Our 2019 MVT will focus on ways to increase donations of stock. Multiple versions of a newsletter will test factors including the following: • Tax benefit messaging • Focus on outright vs. estate donations • Themes of growth, impact and trust • Design variations • Email vs. phone response it’s easy to make a gift of stock to LMU!   29. Objective 6.7: Provide support for the University by accurately recording gifts and maintaining alumni and demographic information through the use of appropriate technology and software

Objective 6.7: Progress • Processed over 3,580 contributions and transactions in Colleague • Obtained and processed Colleague updates for 1,739 alumni and friends via National Change of Address (NCOA) services • Tracked over 3,000 meaningful points of contact through University Advancement call reports • Processed over 250 reports, mailing lists and other requests for information (an increase of over 17 percent from last year) • Worked with Information services to prepare for transition to Salesforce and MapAnything platforms in July 2019 • Expanded the use of online giving platforms (GiveCampus and iModules)

  31. Objective 6.8: Continue to support the accreditation processes of the University

  32. Objective 6.8: Progress Each department contributes relevant information to the University as requested toward accreditation. Department members also participate in any activities associated with accreditation when requested.
