The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • The Day of His Appearing • The return of Jesus • Matt. 24:30 “they will see the Son of Man coming” • Acts 1:11 “Jesus…will come in just the same way…” • 1 Thess. 4:16 “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven” • Rev. 1:7 “every eye will see Him” • How will people react to His appearing? • Saved will rejoice • Lost will mourn • The mockers will be silenced

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • The Day of Resurrection • Jesus taught on it: John 5:28-29 • The Thessalonians were afraid it already happened, so Paul explained the order: 1 Thess. 4:13-17 • The Corinthians questioned what our resurrected bodies will be like: 1 Cor. 15:42-44; 50-54 • Summary: All people will be raised up and changed to a form suitable for existence in eternal spiritual realm.

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • The Day of Judgment • Matt. 12:36; 2 Pet. 2:9; 3:7 “the day of judgment” • Acts 17:31 “a day in which He will judge the world” • Rom. 2:5;16 “day of wrath…God will judge the secrets” • The righteous will be separated from the wicked • Matt. 25:31-33 • The lost will be judged, sentenced • John 12:48 “the word I spoke is what will judge him” • Rev. 20:11-15

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • The Day of Deliverance • Saints enter the heavenly kingdom • Matt. 25:34 “inherit the kingdom prepared for you” • 2 Tim. 4:18 “The Lord…will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom” • The church will be delivered up to the Father • 1 Cor. 15:23-24 • All the saved united in one eternal city: the new Jerusalem, the new heavens and earth • Rev. 21:10,27

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • The Day of Victory (1 Cor. 15:57) • Our victory over Satan (Rom. 16:20) • “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” • Christ’s victory of His enemies (Heb. 1:13) • “Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet” • Satan, Death, and Hades cast into lake of fire • 1 Cor. 15:25-26 “last enemy that will be abolished is death” • 1 Cor. 15:54-57 “Death is swallowed up in victory…” • Rev. 20:10;14

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • Are you ready for that day? • Matt. 24:36 – only the Father knows when • Matt. 24:42-44 “be on the alert” • Delay & “deathbed repentance” a dangerous gamble! • 2 Cor. 6:2 - NOW is the acceptable time…TODAY is the day of salvation! • Heb. 4:7 “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts”

The Gospel of the KingdomThe Kingdom’s Future • Summary: A Great Day Is Coming, when: • The Lord will appear and all will see Him • The dead will be raised, living will be changed • The physical realm will be destroyed • The lost will be condemned • The church (kingdom) will be delivered up to God • Victory over death, Hades, and Satan • Are you ready for these things?

  12. The Gospel of the Kingdom • The end is coming, and we do not know when. Are you prepared, if the Lord should return today? • Obey the Gospel: believe, repent, confess, be baptized, and God will add you to it! (Acts 2:38,47) • If you previously entered but have since departed, will you repent and return?
