  2. Overview Both are popularly used mobile payment technologies. Apple Pay was launched in late 2014, while Google Pay, previously called Android Pay and Google Wallet in 2018. You may be interested to know the Differences between Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  4. How to make payments? Apple Pay: P2P (peer-to-peer) payments can be made through the Messages app via Apple Cash. You can also request Siri to make payments by using a debit/credit card stored in the app. If you come across the Apple Pay logo, you can make online or in-app purchases. Google Pay: Using the Google Pay app, you can send money to any email address or phone number using an Android/iOS device. You can also make online/in-app purchases by noticing the Google Pay logo.

  5. How to make payments? Apple Pay: This technology is designed for iPad/iPhone users with Touch/Face ID including Apple Watch (Series 1, 2 and other versions). The technology required comes pre-installed. Prepaid/debit/credit cards can be added including loyalty cards via PayPass technology. Users also have the facility to authenticate transactions in several ways. With Apple Watch, payments can be made simply by double-clicking the side button. Then hold the watch display close to the contactless reader. Google Pay: It is designed to work on NFC-enabled Android watches/phones. For iPhones, there is introduced an app. Users simply need to download the Google Pay app and start using it. You can upload loyalty, prepaid, debit and credit cards. Unlock your phone and hold it close to a contactless payment reader to make in-store purchases. For the smartwatch, open Google Pay app. Hold it close to the terminal until you hear/feel a buzzing sound.
