  2. Who is Michael Scott Moore? Michael Scott Moore edits the site- Radio Free Mike. Michael is a novelist and journalist hailing from California. He lived in Berlin for twelve years, from 2005 till 2017. He went to Somalia in 2012 to research. A gang of ten pirates on trial in Hamburg for trying to hijack the MV Taipan, a German cargo vessel. His website went inactive as he was held hostage in Somalia. It was a brutal ordeal which lasted two and a half years. Now that he is back, the site is live again.

  3. His Book: “The desert and the sea” His book “The desert and the sea” has been a national bestseller. It is all about the 32 months he spent as a hostage in Somalia. He has written about everything he experienced there including physical injury, starvation, isolation, and terror.

Michael visited a number of surf destinations — Israel, the Gaza Strip, West Africa, Great Britain, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Cuba, and Morocco — to observe the results.
