  1. Lesión física o deterioro funcional del contenido craneal, secundario a un intercambio brusco de energía mecánica. El trauma craneoencefálico (TCE), es una de las principales causas de muerte a nivel mundial, y es una patología endémica en países con altos índices de violencia y accidentalidad.

  3. SITIOS DE HERNIACIÓN • El foramen magno (hérnia descendente o de amígdalas cerebelosas). • La hoz cerebral (hernia subfalcial).

Es toda lesión de columna vertebral asociada a una lesión neurológica que puede comprometer la medula espinal raíces o cauda esquina, esta lesión neurológica puede ser reversible o no reversible. Pueden ser secundarias a un mal transporte. El trauma raquimedular se presenta entre un 15% a un 30% de todos los pacientes poli traumatizados.
