  3. What is coronary heart disease? Coronary heart disease is when arteries in the heart get filled with plaque, this causes it to not function properly as not enough oxygen can get to it, this can cause a heart attack or stroke.

  6. How does smoking cause coronary heart disease? Many harmful substances in cigarettes cause the plaque that builds up in the arteries, causing coronary heart disease. When there is too much of this plaque it doesn't allow blood to flow to the heart or limbs.
