JSW Summer Internship Program • JSW SIP focuses on engaging the best college campuses in the country by selecting students, irrespective of the area of study • Interns will work on projects, that require out-of-the-box thinking, defined by the Heads of Departments • Mentors and buddies assigned to the interns shall be available 24/7 for any kind of help • Performance on the projects will be measured objectively against set targets

  9. SIP 2013 HIGHLIGHTS • The first SIP batch consisted of 26 interns, of which 9 received PPO’s (30% of the batch) • Interns were allowed to take ownership of their projects during the Program. They took responsibility for their project goals and delivered meaningful results which have been taken up by their departments for implementation • A panel consisting of the Chairman, CEO, CMO and plant operation heads evaluated the intern’s final presentations, assessing them on their creativity, specific project deliverables and value addition to the departments and organization

SIP 2013 HIGHLIGHTS • All interns were given the opportunity to spend a week at India’s largest private sector steel plant at a single location, seeing the steel manufacturing process in its entirety – an opportunity very few get, as access to the general public is restricted • A 3 day leadership program which involved team building activities and leadership talks by senior executives was conducted at our plant in Vijayanagar • A ‘CSR day’ was organized during which interns participated in community service activities. Interns also had the opportunity to interact with children studying at local village schools, supported by the JSW Foundation
