Context & Objective • The questionnaire is one of the instruments used to gather CrIP portal requirements • Objective: Capture quantitative information to assess information needs for different groups of construction stakeholders Phase 2 Consult End-users (Questionnaire, Interviews, Workshop) Phase 1 Capture Industry Needs and Requirements based on documentation and archival data CrIP Requirements Capture Methodology Phase 3 Analyse data and formulate CrIP Portal requirements Phase 4 Validate CrIP Portal requirements

Overview • Targeted content • Regulatory framework (policies, legislation, regulations, standards, etc.) • Research programmes & RTD outcomes ( innovations) … at EU, national and local levels • Targeted user sample • Construction operators (including SMEs) • Suppliers • Trade associations • Governmental bodies and agencies • Research bodies • Sample size: several hundreds • Expected covering: fair repartition between stakeholder groups, disciplines, and EU member countries

Overview • Languages: English, Italian, French, German, Polish, Slovenian, … • The questionnaire will be filled online at the CrIP web site: www.constructioninformationplatform.eu • Promotion channels • ECTP • Trade associations • Dedicated networks (ENBRI, ENCORD…) • Consortium personal contacts • Scheduling • Questionnaire validated on pilot sample: first week of February • Questionnaire ready online and advertised on selected media: second week of February • Questionnaire filled: end of February • Analysis of results: March • Presentation of results in the Interim Report and at the Mid-Term Workshop (April)

  5. Links with ECTP • Privileged channel to get in touch with construction stakeholders in order to assess their needs regarding the information targeted in CrIP • Expectations • Validate the questionnaire (today Workshop) • Promote CrIP and publish link to the questionnaire in the ECTP “e-News in brief” • Ask associations, networks and construction NTPs represented in ECTP to advertise on CrIP and the questionnaire (on their web sites, through their newsletters…)

Structure of the questionnaire • Section A: “Define yourself” (6 questions)  know the role played by your organisation in the construction value-chain, and your personal fields of interest • Section B: “Information Use” (9 questions)  define what kind of information on the construction sector you currently need to access and use for your job, especially in terms of legal information, what are your sources of information, how often you use this information, and in which circumstances • Section C: “Level of satisfaction” (3 questions)  precise how much satisfied is the respondent with his current practices to access and use legal information, and the possible barriers • Section D: “Way forward” (4 questions)  get information on some functionalities you would expect from a Construction Information Platform
