  4. AGRO INDUSTRYProject No.: NIR/001/V/01-03 This is an expansion project proposed by one of the most successful Nigerian fisheries. The purpose of the project is to expand company's operation and to increase its export of semi-processed (frozen) seafood products. The company is looking for a partner to implement expansion program (increase of fleet of trawlers) and to improve company's market position in export of shrimps and prawns. Project type: Expansion / Modernization Foreign collaboration sought: JV, MA, Total investment (US$ mn): 23,82 Foreign contribution (US$ mn): 14,82

  5. Project No.: NIR/006/V/01-03 The proposed new cashew-processing factory is planned as a comprehensive cashew processing facility. The local plantations will supply fresh cashew fruits from which cashew juice, edible cashew nuts and cashew oil (pharmaceutical product) will be produced. Project No.: NIR/007/V/01-03 Project title:Production of Fruit Juice - ABONEL LTD Project summary: Abonel & Associates International Ltd. main activity is subcontracting of shipping and stevedoring services to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The proposed project is a diversification proposal aiming at capturing a share of very large market for drinks and juices in Nigeria Project type: New, diversification Foreign collaboration sought: JV, TT Total investment (US$ mn): 0.56 Foreign contribution (US$ mn): 0.3

  7. Project No.: NIR/011/V/01-03 Project title: Production of Cassava Chips - KL FOODS NIGERIA LTD. Project summary: The purpose of the project is a diversification from current line of production into cassava chip production. Existing buildings and infrastructure will be modernized and rehabilitated and new production equipment will replace obsolete dairy products facilities. Total investment cost is estimated at US$ 300 000. Foreign partner is sought to assist in marketing and provide financial support of app. US$ 120 000.

Project No.: NIR/012/V/01-03 Project title: Production of palm oil - REAL OIL LTD Project summary: The purpose of the project is to establish a crude palm oil mill to supply raw material to the company's oil refinery currently in operation (backward integration). Fresh fruit bunches from existing oil palm plantation will be used as raw materials, while produced crude oil will be refined at the existing oil refinery operated by sponsors, thus a complete production cycle will be completed resulting in smooth operation and allowing better costs control. Total investment is estimated at US$ 2,900,000 and foreign partner is expected to contribute 1, 900,000. Local banks are ready to co-finance the project, subject to further negotiations with partners of the proposed joint venture.

  9. Project No.: NIR/028/V/01-03 Project title: Manufacture of particle and fiber wood boards - OSDEV LTD. Project summary: The establishment of a particle board/wood-processing factory in Akure in consonance with the Ondo State Government's policy of facilitating private sector driven economic development using OSDEV as the anchor vehicle. The factory is to convert otherwise useless wastes such as maize stems, rice husks and straw, elephant grass, bargasse, wood shavings/saw dusts, tree cuts etc. into particle boards for the construction, furniture and packaging industries.

  10. Project title: Production of Asphalt and Granite - SHIELDS & SHIELDS LTD Project Summary: This is a new project proposed by Shields and Shields Associates Ltd established in 1996. The company has operated as general contractors for office equipment and later diversified into supply, distribution and leasing of heavy-duty construction machinery to major construction companies in Nigeria. The new facilities will produce asphalt and granite / marble elements as supplementary products for supply to other construction companies and for sponsors' own construction business. Project No.: NIR/060/V/01-03 Project title: Production of granite blocks and slabs - CIBI NIGERIA LTD Project summary: The purpose of project is to expand / modernize production facilities and acquire new technology (gang saw) for producing granite slabs for export. Simultaneously new quarry will be open to extract granite blocks for export and supply the factory. Project type: Expansion/ Modernization Foreign collaboration sought: L, EP, TE, BB Total investment (US$ mn): 2,42 Foreign contribution (US$ mn): 2,42

  12. Project No.: NIR/062/V/01-03 Project title:Processing of solid minerals - ITT LTD. Project summary: Project is proposed by ITT Nig. Limited involved in trading of raw materials (fillers, drilling mud etc.) and serving oil and gas companies. A new project foresses establishment of facilities for solid mineral processing (kaolin, dolomite and baryte). The fillers produced from the minerals will be supplied to big industrial users, including oil and gas sector companies. Project type: New Foreign collaboration sought: JV, EP Total investment (US$ mn): 0.65 Foreign contribution (US$ mn): 0.2

  13. Project No.: NIR/024/V/01-03 Project title: Manufacture of textile & garments - ADHAMA LTD Project summary: The purpose of the project is an expansion of current facilities. Adhama Textiles wants to extend their production with a spinning plant to produce 1.5 tones of 24-30-count cotton yarn per day. Some investment in spinning plant has already been made (building and part of machinery). Installation of new weaving machinery, 4 color printing machine, as well as 30 sewing machines will allow manufacturing of baby napkins and towels. Some quantity of cotton yarn will be sold to other factories in the region. Project type: expansion / modernization Foreign collaboration sought: JV, TE Total investment (US$ mn): 1.71 Foreign contribution (US$ mn): 0.41
