  2. Horizontal line • Creates a restful feeling, draws eye around the room

  3. Vertical Line • Suggests action, add height to a room

  4. Diagonal Line • Convey excitement and movement

  5. Symmetrical Balance • Design is the same on each side of a line drawn down the center

  6. 5. Asymmetrical Balance • Objects are unmatched on either side of the imaginary line, but appear to have equal weight

  7. The regular repetition of line, shape, color, or texture creates rhythm in design

  8. The shape and structure of solid objects is form

  9. Space -two aspects: size of the overall space and arrangement of objects within that space

  10. Texture-the appearance or feel of a surace

  11. Emphasis the technique of drawing attention where you want it

  12. Proportion-the way one part of a design relates to another part and to the whole design
