IB MYP Mission Statement The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through interculturalunderstanding and respect. To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challengingprograms of internationaleducation and rigorousassessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelonglearnerswho understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

  10. Paperwork • Parent Connect and Free and Reduced Lunch forms • Forms will be coming home in August/Sept, FILL OUT and return to school! • On the first day of school • Students arrive to school, go to cafeteria and will be escorted to their advisory where they receive their schedules.

Middle School Schedule • Schedule given first day of school • Six 55 minute classes                        • Math, LA, Science and Social Studies daily • Encore courses rotate every day   •  The 3-day rotation A, B, C (art, band…) • Physical Education/Foreign Language is on a 2-day rotation, days are called: Red/Blue

  12. Where do students go after MacArthur? • Meade High School is our Feeder HS • BMAH, Glen Burnie HS • STEM, North County HS • PVA, Annapolis and Broadneck HS • IB, Meade HS • Signature Programs: Homeland Security, CAT-N

  13. Counselors help with: • Attendance • Completion of class work and homework • Study skills • Time Management • Family/Friendship Issues • College/career interest • Anger Management

  16. Life and Death Individual Activity • Please take one yellow stapled packet from the center of your table. • Read the packet to yourself and choose the 8 people that you would save and the three that you would not. • Put an “X” next to the 3 people that you would not save on the last sheet.

  17. Life and Death Group Activity • With your table, decide who your group will not save. • Put those three names (one on each sticky) on a sticky note and put up on the chart paper.
