  1. World Cultures Enrichment Menu 2nd 6th weeks Projects Due Wednesday November 6th Students can not duplicate their projects fro the 1st 6th weeks. All students should return their project page with their parent’s signature. Project requirements may vary per social studies teacher. *** Students who would like to assistance and guidance on their projects, can arrange to attend tutorials with their social studies teacher. Tutorial dates may vary, our doors are open to assist you.

  2. Culture Interview Video • Student will interview 3 older family members, teachers or family friends. Ask them to describe what they remember most about being their and share stories about that time. Examples would include, but are not limited to, popular songs; schools; choice of entertainment; pictures. Back in the day what was life like. • Materials: • Question Guide (students are not limited to questions). • This project can be a short creative video or a fact booklet with colorful and creative pictures.

  3. G.R.A.P.E.S Rap Write and perform (either in person or on video) an original rap song about the concepts of G.R.A.P.E.S. Include music and a video if you like. Remember the acronyms G.R.A.P.E.S. represents a cultures Geography; Religion; Achievements; Political Systems; Economic systems; and Social Structures. • Be sure to have your rap written down to turn in to your teacher.

  4. Mapping Skills Map it as you traveled. Use your mapping skills to create an exciting map tracing a path of a trip you took to another country state or country. Include famous pictures of landmarks along the way. This project should be colorful and include specific instructions and details of how to get there and what can be seen along the way. • Don’t forget to include a map key; map title; and navigation instructions.

  5. Shopping Bags Locate 10 small items around your home that were made in a different country (at least 6 countries should be represented). Put them in a bag and bring them to school with the following chart completed. You will present them to the class. • You can download the chart on my webpage.

  6. Diorama In a shoe box up right, create a diorama of people in one or more different social classes (very rich – middle class – poor). All of the interior space of the box must be covered with pictures; figures; information about your choice of the Social Structures of a society. • Use items around your home to create the diorama. • You can print or draw your pictures for the project. • Have fun with it!!!!

  7. Pop up Graph Choose any ten (10) countries and create a 3D pop up graph based on the population, capital city, primary -languages, major religionsand type of government. • Be sure to color each bar on your graph a different color. • Include all Capital City, Primary language, major religions, and type of government.

  8. Children’s Book Create a children’s book about 5 major world religions = with 6 pages. Your book must include a cover page and each page must have an illustration (picture) for your story. Your book should be colorfuland neatly written.

  9. R. A. F. T. Role - World Traveler Audience - Your Classmates Format - 7 Post cards Topic - You are traveling to all 7 countries. Design colorful creative postcards with images of the place you are going to visit and write a 3 – 5 sentence summary of your experiences at each place. Include the 5 Ws Who? What? When? Where? Why? • Your post cards should include famous images. • Draw or print pictures to post images on your cards. • Have fun touring!!!

  10. Cultural Show and Tell Prepare a 5 – 10 minutes presentation sharing some aspects of your culture with the class. Examples: Traditional clothing; music; dance, food… This can also be presented in a video. • You can use a smart phone if you have one to do your video. • A flash drive can be used.
