  2. MATANZAS Fundada en 1693 Se le atribuye su nombre a una matanza que hicieron los indios, al trasladar en sus canoas a un grupo de españoles. Los transportaban de una a otra parte de la bahía. También por provocar el hundimiento de las embarcaciones.
