  1. Track & Field Hurdling 12th grade MWF- T-th 1:20 each session

  2. Objectives Students will be able to run with coordination, flexibility, and technique over the hurdles. Students will develop speed to the hurdle and between each hurdle. Students will develop endurance throughout the race. Students will be able to start the race with blocks.

Louisiana Standards and Benchmarks Standard 1: Demonstrates competency in many movement forms and proficiency in a few movement forms Benchmarks: 1-H-1 Demonstrates proficiency in applying advanced skills, strategies and rules for specific activities (e.g., plays games such as racquet, field, and court sports that require advanced eye/body coordination and high levels of strategy. (1,2,3,4,5)

  4. Louisiana Standards and Benchmarks Standard 2: Applies movement and principles to the learning and development of motor skills. Benchmarks: 2-H-1 Synthesizes previously learned skills and incorporates them into dynamic physical activity settings. ( 1,2,3,4 2-H-2 Identifies and applies critical elements to enable the development of movement competence/proficiency (e.g., applies biomechanical concepts and principles to analyze and improve performance of self and others). (1,2,3,4

  5. Instructional Theory In the lesson of hurdling, I will used the Social Constructivist theory. And the instructional models that will be used are Know-Want to Know- Learned (K-W-L) this will encourage students to activate prior knowledge of other movements and used it in learning to hurdle, stimulates cognition and metacogniton. The Problem Solving Approach will encourage my students to spend time understanding a problem before attacking and this will help them make adjustments on their own, after I taught them the correct techniques. Visualization Strategies is the process of the students forming mental images of their movements .

  15. Speed Speed is important to get the 1st hurdle the quickest The required steps between the hurdle is 3 in 110m Steps to the first hurdle should be 7 0r 8 steps Knee lift will increase your speed

  16. Prototype When all of the techniques are combine, it will produce 1st place results.
