  4. Communication • Daily Planner- homework, upcoming quizzes, tests, and behavior • Tuesday Folders • Monthly Newsletters • Website • Email- will respond within 48 hours; “Paperless practice”

  5. Homework • Why? 1. To practice skills that have been introduced 2. To complete unfinished classroom assignments 3. To relate understanding and skills to every day life 4. To enrich the school program __________________________________________ • Daily homework should take no longer than 45-60 minutes • Reading 20-30 minutes per night (read to self, with someone, or to someone) • Study multiplication and division facts for fluency • 5-10 review math problems/ an activity to review math concept learned in class that day • Follow the WORD STUDY schedule • Review science/ and or social studies concepts

How can I help at home? • Provide a well lit, quiet environment for homework completion • Practice math facts • Review what was taught that day • Vocabulary • Read with your child(ren) • Use given websites for extra practice • Please review the planner, and use it to communicate any issues with the homework to the teacher. • Please initial the planner to indicate your child has completed the homework. How can I help at school? • Volunteer! • PTA • Watch Dogs
