History • 1st BC – 7th AD • Mostly influenced by China and India • 10TH -15TH CENTURY • Islam supersedes Hinduism and Buddhism in most regions • 16th – 19th CENTURY • First the Portuguese, then the English and Dutch and then the French plant colonies and start trading, only Thailand stays autonomous • 20th CENTURY • Countries become more and more independent
