  1. Status of Oxygen data- Agreements of Oxygen WG - Taiyo Kobayashi JAMSTEC

  2. The present status around DO measurements by Argo floats There are a lot of problems to be resolved in float DO measurements and its data processing. DO working group (including all PIs of Oxygen Argo floats and some NDACs) was established by AST in Oct. 2007 to discuss (a part of) these issues. • Biases/offsets/trends of DO measurements by the current DO floats/sensors => AST • Improvements of the sensors/floats in cooperation with the makers. • Developments of some method to correct DO data • Data consistency between SBE and Optode sensors => DO working group • Standard data management process for data consistency has been discussed by DO-WG. • Some of AST issues will be added here (in future). • Mandatory information of meta-data for DO measurements => Determined at ADMT in Hobart

  3. This inconsistency should be resolved ASAP because it is never user-friendly and it might bring us meaningless troubles.

  4. Agreements of Oxygen WG • SBE Oxygen Float: DOXY: raw Oxygen data • Optode Oxygen Float: DOXY: raw Oxygen data DOXY_Adjusted: “On shore adjusted” values with the official method prepared by Aanderaa. • When SBE will prepare a method of "on shore adjustment" for their sensor, the procedure for SEB Oxygen floats will be changed like that for Optode. • When the method of "on shore adjustment" for Optode will be changed (updated), the above process will follow it. • It is better that the above procedures are carried out at Real-Time data stream. • Automatic process (to multiple factors determined by P, S, T). • The above procedures are explained in Argo data manuals, and they will be updated as the occasion demands.
